Our Overnight Airfreight service also known as Overnight Express is designed for urgent shipments that must reach their destination the next business day. Operating between major centres across South Africa, this service offers the fastest and most reliable delivery option in our domestic network.
Shipments are transported on scheduled commercial flights, with strict cut-off and departure times to ensure seamless overnight transit. For destinations beyond major centres, the final leg is completed by road, which may add an extra day to the total delivery time.
Our airfreight network is managed with the same attention to reliability and service quality that defines all our operations. Real-time monitoring is performed by our Tracking Department from collection to final delivery.
Service Options and Delivery Times
- Major-to-Major Centres: Delivery by 11:00 the next business day
- Regional Areas: Delivery by 17:00 on the second day
- Early Morning Option: Delivery by 09:00 (available in select major centres)
Because airfreight operates on precise flight schedules, it is crucial that collections are booked early, and shipments are ready at the confirmed times. Drivers operate under strict collection windows, and missed collections may result in your consignment not being delivered by the required time.

Why is proper packaging important?
During transit, all cargo is subject to natural movement within the vehicle. As the truck drives, brakes, or turns, goods may shift slightly causing boxes to rub against one another or against other freight. This movement is an unavoidable part of road transportation, even when the load is properly secured and handled with care.
If items are not packaged appropriately, this shifting can result in damage such as:
- Boxes collapsing or tearing open
- Fragile items cracking or breaking
- Surfaces becoming scratched or scuffed
For this reason, it is the sender’s responsibility to ensure that all goods are packaged securely with suitable materials, strong boxes, and adequate internal cushioning. Proper packaging helps safeguard your shipment from the normal vibrations and movements experienced during transport.
Please note that damage arising from insufficient or improper packaging is not always considered negligence on our part, as it results from the natural dynamics of transit rather than mishandling.
When booking a dedicated load, what should I consider ?
When booking a dedicated vehicle, please take the following into account:
- Access and location: Confirm that both collection and delivery sites can accommodate the vehicle size — for example, a superlink or 8-ton truck.
- Loading and offloading: Ensure labour and mechanical equipment (such as forklifts or cranes) are ready and available at both ends.
- Standing times: Standard loading and offloading time is 3 hours, depending on the vehicle configuration.
- Delays: If loading or offloading is delayed, operations may need to continue after hours.
- Cancellations: Failing to cancel a truck in time will result in a financial penalty.
What is the latest collection time for my area?
Account customers can schedule collections directly with their sales representative, and recurring or fixed-time collections can be arranged in advance for any time during the day.
Please note that certain regional areas are serviced once daily, either in the morning or afternoon, depending on the route, confirmed on the day of collection.
Packing
If the cargo is being sent by overnight road freight or airfreight, it must be packed securely to withstand the transit conditions and extra handling that occurs. The box (boxes) must have identifiable stickers on it with the waybill reference number to ensure safe delivery.
Fragile and right side up stickers are suggested and can be requested from the call centre at no additional charge. The consignment should be well protected as the cargo is stacked. The outer packaging should be solid enough with enough inner support, depending on the product that is being couriered.
If an inventory list should accompany the package, it must be attached to the box or be placed inside. If required, it can be attached to the waybill. If the packing slip needs to be returned to the sender, this must be clearly marked on the waybill and the customer services consultant should be notified. If there is a valid reason which requires the collection to be rescheduled, contact the call center as soon as possible to make the necessary arrangements.
